About Our Guest:
Dana L. Wilson has over fifteen years of experience in the financial services industry and is the Founder and CEO of CHIP (Changing How Individuals Prosper). CHIP is a financial services marketplace that makes finding financial professionals of color easy.
In 2021, Investment News recognized her as a “See It Be It Role Model” for her diversity, equity, and inclusion work. She also received two company awards in 2021 from Think Advisor for her work in diversity and inclusion and thought leadership. She was named “One To Watch” in Fintech from Money 20/20 and was awarded as a 2021 Trailblazer from Black Women In Media. Dana graduated from North Carolina Central University and received her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Marketing and a 2023 Investment News Women To Watch Finalist.
Dana also holds an MBA from Penn State University’s Smeal School of Business, where she focused on strategic leadership and corporate innovation. She has worked at large, mid-sized, and independent financial firms. These firms include SunTrust Bank, SunTrust Investment Services, State Farm, Merrill Lynch, and Cabot Lodge Securities. Dana then started an independent financial advisory practice before joining Manhattan Wealth Management in New York City. She was a previous Start-Up Coach teaching Business Planning, Sales, and Marketing for Apps Without Code (AWC), a no-code boot camp program for entrepreneurs to build and scale their apps.
Dana provides access to historically excluded and underrepresented financial and legal professionals. She hosts “The Included Series Podcast,” where she works to normalize the conversation around money as her guests share their financial journey. She has participated in numerous panels, symposiums, and events for community organizations and HBCUs.
Dana is providing more than education; she’s giving access, visibility, and resources to underserved individuals and families. She mentors other women and start-ups and is always willing and able to collaborate with other professionals to achieve a common goal. In addition, she’s currently training for the 2024 NYC marathon and is an avid reader, proud pet parent, and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
