You may see some advisors creating amazing content and think, “Ugh, I’ll never get there.” Or maybe you believe you can get there one day, but procrastination always gets in the way.
Either way, the problem seems to be getting started.
In this episode, Matt Halloran speaks with Jorrell Bland, Associate Wealth Advisor at Mitlin Financial, Inc., about how he felt stuck in a rut before taking a bold step and finally putting himself out there. Jorrell then reflects on how his relationships as an advisor have improved after increasing his presence on social media and podcasts.
Matt and Jorrell discuss:
- The mindset shift that propels advisors from hesitation to action
- Practical advice to help you feel more confident and come out of your shell
- How sharing your personal journey (both wins and losses!) helps clients relate to you on a deeper level
- What kind of marketing shows the human side of being an advisor
- And more
“Just get started and you’ll get there. Don’t look at anybody else; just run your own race. It’s you versus you.” ~ Jorrell Bland

About Our Guest:
As an Associate Wealth Advisor at Mitlin Financial, Jorrell builds relationships, leads client meetings, and works toward ensuring that the families he serves have a safe space to discuss finances, which is taboo for many. Jorrell strives to provide them with the highest level of service and give them the advice and guidance needed to find their freedom.
Jorrell started his journey in financial services at West Virginia University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and became the first one in his family to earn a college degree. West Virginia is also where he found his passion for working with Athletes. Jorrell played football for the Mountaineers during his freshman year, and it helped him understand the dedication, commitment, and resiliency it takes to play at a high level. It also opened his eyes to the fact that many athletes will not go pro in their sport but he still brings the same winning mindset and has made it his mission to help athletes turn their winning mindset into financial freedom.
